Brian Uridge - Senior Safety Administrator

A resident of Plainwell, Michigan, Brian Uridge started his career with the University of Michigan (UM) in 2018 as the Director of Michigan Medicine Security, a role requiring that he supervises more than 200 security, guest services, and law enforcement members. In his role as director, Brian Uridge also is in charge of a criminal investigation team, community policing operations, K-9 team, clinical trainers, and physical security staff.

A year later, Brian Uridge's role at the University of Michigan expanded when he became the Deputy Director for the Department of Public Safety and Security. In addition to his supervisory role with Michigan Medicine Security, he is involved in policy development, regional campus integration, enterprise-wide threat assessment, protective investigations, and DEI implementation.

Mr. Uridge has more than 25 years of experience in corporate safety and security, law enforcement, fire services, EMS, and tactical security services. His expertise includes command leadership, asset protection, risk management, community relations, and policy and procedure implementation.

Mr. Uridge's extensive record in this field has enabled him to speak to audiences nationwide on healthcare security and healthcare violence reduction. In all, he is a team player, partner, and leader who possesses interpersonal skills and a leader with a proven track record of success.

Mr. Uridge is a member of the American Society for Industrial Security, the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety, and the CHPA Association of Threat Assessment Professionals. His professional certifications include being a certified police officer for UM, a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator, and a Certified Threat Manager.
